TIZI-WEZZU (SIWEL) — On February 21, 2025, Algerian colonial forces arrested Fadila Hamache, a Kabyle citizen, over a Facebook post. This arrest is part of the Algerian colonial regime’s repressive policy aimed at silencing any Kabyle voice expressing its identity, political aspirations, and desire for freedom.
The Kabyle people, committed to their values, are peacefully fighting for their freedom and fundamental rights. Despite systematic repression, the determination of the Kabyle people to live free and with dignity remains unshakable.
The arrest of Fadila Hamache has sparked a wave of outrage and solidarity, both in Kabylia and among the diaspora. Calls are being made to demand her immediate release and an end to the persecution of Kabyle activists. In the face of the ongoing oppression by the Algerian colonial regime, the only solution for the Kabyle people remains independence.
