KABYLE GOVERNMENT IN EXILE
Call for a Grand March for the Independence of Kabylia, April 20, 2025, in Paris
The world is in constant motion, and today more than ever, the lines are shifting, bringing with them new risks and unprecedented opportunities. In this tumultuous and dynamic geopolitical context, Kabylia must demonstrate its resilience by staying firmly on course toward independence while learning to skillfully navigate these new waves.
The isolation imposed on Kabylia by Algeria since 1962 has been lifted thanks to Anavad – in France, the United States, other foreign embassies, as well as the UN and NGOs – a sign that Kabylia is emerging on the international stage.
The castle of lies built by opponents of the Kabyle cause, who tried to convince the Kabyle people that they were not a people, collapsed on September 4, 2024. On that date, a major British law firm, Brick Court Chambers, issued a legal opinion based on international law, recognizing that the Kabyle are indeed a people and have the right to self-determination. What a blow to the opposition! This resounding victory also highlights our determination to advance our struggle peacefully.
It is in this context, full of new challenges and hopes, that the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylia (MAK) and the Kabyle Government in Exile (Anavad) solemnly call upon the entire Kabyle people around the world to rise as one voice in favor of the independence of the Kabyle Nation.
A grand march is scheduled for April 20, 2025, in Paris, from Place de la Bastille to Place de la République, and we are all called upon to take part.
The year 2025 will be the year of the unilateral declaration of independence, following last year’s proclamation of the rebirth of the Kabyle State. We are aware that this unprecedented step raises certain questions, which we will address in due time. However, it is our collective duty to support this historic stage and to affirm, through our massive presence, that the will of the Kabyle people is unshakable.
Our struggle is rooted in an undeniable historical legitimacy. We advance with the firm will to restore Kabylia’s sovereignty based on universal principles of justice and legitimacy. We reaffirm, with determination and clarity, our unwavering commitment to move forward irreversibly until the effective independence of Kabylia is achieved.
At this pivotal stage, we reiterate our active support for our political prisoners, unjustly detained by the Algerian military regime.
Let us meet, then, on April 20 in Paris so that the world may hear, without ambiguity, the voice of a people standing tall, dignified, and determined to write its own destiny.
Long live a free and independent Kabylia!
PS: As the President of Anavad, Mass Ferhat Mehenni, reminds us, we are the last doves of Kabylia. It is this symbol of peace and pacifism that we have chosen to highlight on the poster, which we invite you to circulate widely in your public and/or private networks.
